The Best Businesswomen Awards announced their winners for 2024 at a Gala Awards evening held at the Hilton Syon Park on Friday 11th October 2024.
Businesswoman Louise Chapman from Buzz Off Ltd won a SILVER AWARD in the Best Businesswoman in Animal Services AND a SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD for Services to the Bee Industry in this prestigious competition which seeks to find the absolute best female business talent from across the UK.
Buzz Off Ltd provide professional live honeybee removal of swarms which may be causing disruption, structural damage or health & safety issues in walls, chimneys, roofs and other buildings or property. They carry out this highly skilled work without the use of pesticides or insecticides. Established in 2020 by wildlife management professional Louise Chapman, Buzz Off Ltd safely removes bees taking great care to minimise disruption to buildings and locate them elsewhere, so that they may develop and grow within a hive in a better environment. To date, the Buzz Off team have successfully rescued around six million honeybees – which otherwise could have been exterminated.
Despite a challenging economic climate, the innovation, flair, and passion of female entrepreneurs shone through. All winners, selected by a panel of business experts, demonstrated their business acumen, tenacity, and courage.
The Best Businesswomen Awards are designed to recognise the achievement of female owned businesses and charities across a wide range of business categories and are open to any female business owners.
Debbie Gilbert, the organiser of The Best Businesswomen Awards, said, ‘This is the 10th Year of the awards, and we have recognised over 1000 women since we launched in 2015 across a huge range of industry sectors. The selection process is rigorous and to be one of our winners is a major achievement. The judges make their selections based on business expertise, innovation, and high levels of customer care. Our winners are shining examples of outstanding entrepreneurs who have proved their success to our judges and have shown they have the results worthy of being recognised and rewarded.”
Speaking about her recent awards success, Louise Chapman said: “I was delighted to attend the 10th anniversary celebration of women in business. What a great way to celebrate success and make new connections with wonderful women. I was absolutely blown away to receive one of six Special Recognition Awards to Community and Industry. Winning this very special award helps to showcase our very important work, but most importantly to raise awareness of the endangered honeybees and what we can do to help them. It’s all about the bees! “
